Basuki: We Need Further Study About Monorail

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Punama back to discuss the monorail project with Jakarta Provincial ranks under leadership meeting (rapim) which was held on Monday (1/12). Basuki said, there are two monorail depot construction sites which were not approved. Both are located in Tanah Abang Station and Setiabudi Reservoir which the permission was out of date now and the depot construction at the site should be re-examined.

It is hard to looking the land in Jakarta," he added.
Moreover, according to Basuki, there should be more studies to existing routes and adjusted back the project to the geographical situation in the capital today. "So we need to examine the route again because the current route is still the old route," he continued.
The man who is familiarly called Ahok claimed to have discussed this issue with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) when they traveled to the Palace, Friday (9/10). During the meeting, Basuki admitted Jokowi also did not approve the depot construction at the top of Setiabudi reservoir.
"I have reported to Mr. President. The President also said that the advice of Public Works Ministry, it is impossible to build a depot at the top of the Setiabudi reservoir," he uttered.
